How does matching work?
You tell us about your student in our short form. The BestStep Tutor Matching Team reviews your answers and selects the local tutor who best fits your student's needs and learning style. That tutor then calls or texts you to schedule.
Where do in-person sessions happen?
Wherever works best for your family and your tutor: your home or a public place like a local library, within Boca Raton and nearby areas.
How do Zoom sessions work?
Your tutor sends you a Zoom link before each session. Your student needs a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a quiet spot to work. Tutors can share their screen and work through homework together.
Are Zoom sessions recorded?
Yes. All Zoom sessions are recorded for the student's safety, with your consent. Recordings are stored securely, viewed only if a safety concern comes up, and deleted after 30 days. You can request a copy or ask us to delete a recording at any time.
How long are sessions?
30 or 60 minutes. Shorter sessions often suit younger students, and 60 minutes works well for older students and test prep.
How does scheduling work?
After you're matched, your tutor will call or text you to set up session times that work for your family.
What is your cancellation policy?
Sessions canceled less than 24 hours before the start time count as a used session.
Do package sessions expire?
Unused package sessions expire 3 years after purchase.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, in two cases: if you ask within 24 hours of purchase, or if we can't connect your family with a tutor. Otherwise purchases aren't refundable. See our Terms of Service for details.
Is there a discount for new families?
Yes. New families get 15% off their first package of any size: 5 or 10 sessions, 30 or 60 minutes, standard or test prep. It's one per family and applied when your tutor arranges payment.
Not at the moment, but packages of 5 and 10 sessions save 5% and 10%.
How do I pay?
Payment is arranged directly when your tutor contacts you. We don't take payments on the website yet.
Do you tutor outside Boca Raton?
On Zoom, yes, anywhere. In-person sessions are available in Boca Raton, West Boca, Highland Beach, Delray Beach and Deerfield Beach.
